This privacy notice applies to the joint model ambulance service operated by South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb) and South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring your personal data is handled securely and in accordance with UK data protection laws.
Purpose of this notice
This notice explains how we collect, use, and share your personal information when you submit a query via our website contact form.
What information we collect
When you submit a query, we may collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Any other personal information you include in your message
Why we collect your information
We collect this information to:
- Respond to your query
- Direct your query to the appropriate team within SECAmb or SCAS
- Monitor and improve our communications service
Lawful basis for processing
We process your personal data under the lawful basis of public task (Article 6(1)(e) UK GDPR), as we are carrying out a function of a public authority.
Who we share your information with
Your query will be received by the SECAmb Communications Team via comms@secamb.nhs.uk. It may be shared with relevant colleagues in South Central Ambulance Service to ensure your query is handled appropriately.
We will not share your information with any third parties outside of SECAmb and SCAS unless required by law.
How long we keep your information
We will retain your query and associated personal data for no longer than 12 months, unless a longer retention period is required for legal or operational reasons.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request erasure of your data (where applicable)
- Object to or restrict processing
